RFID tags | RFID tags "de plasticize"? So there are already so many innovative products in the market! Quick look

The development of RFID technology has taken root in multiple fields such as retail, books, industry, logistics and warehousing. According to research conducted by AIoT Star Map Research Institute, the global shipment volume of UHF RFID tags is expected to reach 39 billion in 2023, and the market is in a high-speed development. The shipment volume of tags is growing rapidly at an annual growth rate of 20%. With such rapid development, more and more downstream customers are choosing RFID tags. However, as RFID tags are deeply understood by downstream customers, over billions of RFID tag consumables will be discarded every year, becoming a major burden on the earth. Therefore, a question has arisen in their minds: is RFID tags environmentally friendly and biodegradable?

Yangzhou Yongdao, one of the world's leading companies in RFID tag manufacturing, showcased two environmentally friendly and biodegradable RF tags at the 2023 Internet of Things Exhibition. One is the environmentally friendly paper based RFID tag: Yongdao has launched this paper based RFID tag, replacing PET based tags and fundamentally solving environmental problems. The production process of RFID tags for Yongdao paper substrate has become very mature. Various forms of labels have been supplied in bulk (Dry Inlay, Wet Inlay, Label, Hangtags). Another product is the Soft Touch Care Label - a PET free soft fabric label. According to Yongdao Company, with the increasing demand for environmental labels in the global market and customers, especially in China, we have launched a PET free soft fabric label using advanced technology to remove PET from the raw material, greatly improving the environmental characteristics of the label. It is suitable for clothing, shoes and hats, especially underwear and children's clothing, with better applicability. It can also meet the requirement of one household water wash.

Ellie Denison released a fully biodegradable and recyclable RFID tag product in 2023. Eli Denison's fully biodegradable and recyclable RFID tag products for the retail, healthcare, and logistics industries. The newly released product line is called Pure Line, which includes AD Pure and AD Pure 95, which either have no plastic at all or only contain 5% plastic. This allows them to be recycled at the end of their lifespan when attached to paper or cardboard. With the increasing application in retail and other industries, the recyclability of RFID tags for certain purposes is being questioned. Traditional RFID tags are made of PET, a plastic material substrate that is durable but poses challenges for recycling. According to Ellie Denison, these new labels generate 70% to 90% less carbon emissions than traditional labels. The first batch of AD Pure and AD Pure 95 inlays and labels have now been widely launched.
